Before teaming up with Decide, Gareth was a Professor of Consumer Psychology, educating students across universities in Geneva, Paris, and North Wales. Despite his nearly ten-year tenure in academia, Gareth’s approach was anything but conventional. Instead of concentrating on publishing scholarly articles, his expertise lay in conducting market research and spearheading projects for major brands like Unilever, Cadburys, and Aldi. In each instance, he assisted them in harnessing the power of psychology to enhance their marketing strategies. Fast forward a decade, Gareth is now a distinguished Chartered Psychologist (CPsychol) and a proud member of the ‘Global Association of Applied Behavioural Scientists.’ Frequently, you can catch him sharing his insights on various aspects of Consumer Psychology across radio and television platforms. As a regular voice on BBC Radio, he passionately unravels the psychological underpinnings of current news events, distinguishing between urban legends and genuine psychological research.
