Times are changing and currently, things are both different and difficult for retailers and the public alike. We are all trying to get to grips with the ‘new normal’. One impact we have seen is a major increase in online sales, however, this has also highlighted it as an area that could be improved.
Recently, RMS hosted several webinars in conjunction with Logic Information systems regarding a simple but highly effective bolt-on solution for Click & Collect. The solution uses location services which allow customers to simply advise stores via SMS or email that they are on their way, arrived at the store or ‘have cancelled their collection. The solution enables the tracking of a customer’s location and in turn inform stores of pending arrivals and just arrived customers.
Retailers who have used this technology have seen 20% fewer customer ‘no-shows’ as well as a massive improvement in the customer experience and satisfaction, and for those customers who are nervous about queuing, retailers can even include the option to take their orders out to them in the car park and deliver a completely contact-free click and collect experience. The solution is lightweight, cost-effective, and extremely easy to deploy, and we think could provide a huge advantage to current Click & Collect operations.
