Metro Overview

Metro is a collective toolset of applications designed to achieve perfect coordination, compliance, and execution in multisite environments such as Retail, Hospitality and Healthcare.

Removing the need for dozens of expensive and difficult-to-maintain applications from different vendors, metro consolidates into one interconnected suite and offers a saving of up to 60% over operating a patchwork of different solutions.

Metro is the leading digital workplace that many of the most recognisable brands trust to optimise business efficiency, drive productivity, save costs and increase profits – Metro brings teams together to create engaged, empowered communities through a personalised, targeted single-user experience.

Foundation

Metro Foundation provides the platform for the personalisation of the metro suite of applications across multiple devices. In addition to managing your business hierarchy, location attributes, security and authentication, it facilitates the free movement of data in and out of the platform, as well as seamlessly between modules. Should you add another module to your metro technology set, existing data is used to minimise configuration/setup time and accelerate the go-live of each additional module. Furthermore, Foundation provides customers full access to the site’s administration areas and enables you to customize Metro for your business.

The value of having ‘one version of the truth’ extends further than accuracy, agility, and cost alone. For example, data held within the Employee Management module can be used to target communications or tasks based on the availability, skill sets, workload, and capacity of an individual within a store.

Unified Comms

Unified Comms is the employee engagement module within Metro that replaces hard-to-control email, intranets and ‘off-domain’ social channels and provides users with tailored communication and compliance activities. Personalised content, tasks, social communications, messaging, feedback, performance and more can be delivered through our dynamic and responsive web portal and app, helping keep front-line workers out of the back office.

Our approach enables businesses to target audiences directly, personalise content and increase engagement, saving costs and promoting a richer, more empowered employee experience. Furthermore, all Unified Comms content is now available through Microsoft 365 and Teams, meaning users can receive information within their chosen technology environment and without the need to switch applications.

Process

Process adds an additional range of automated and intelligent applications, including the ability to complete Site Audits and Visits, capture Accidents & Incidents and undertake Routine Daily Checks, Petty Cash Management and Sundries Ordering.

These applications eliminate the need for old-fashioned paper-based checklists and provide visible compliance, workflow escalation and budget management, each adhering to legal or procedural requirements with many applications linking directly through into Unified Comms and other Metro modules, allowing a seamless ‘All in One’ experience. For example, our Site Audit system links through to our Task engine, allowing you to monitor audit compliance in real-time.

Workforce Management

Our Workforce Management module offers a simple to use, flexible and effective labour scheduling toolset that can optimise scheduling by site, week and unique trading activities. With no hardcoded algorithms, this tool adapts to each business’s requirements as it changes – schedules can be printed or sent to team members at the press of a button, eliminating the need for handwritten staff rotas.

Time and Attendance

Metro’s Time & Attendance module provides an effective process to capture, manage and report the actual hours staff have worked via self-calculating timesheets. Absences, overtime, ad-hoc payments and labour matching can all be completed quickly, easily and accurately. With no paper timesheets to complete, costly errors can be avoided.

The T&A module also includes a web browser or app-based end-user tool for a simple and effective ‘clocking in and out’. App-based functions are integrated within the Metro Self Service App; however, these can also be utilised as standard alone functionality. Clock data can be configured to populate timesheets.

Employee Management

The Employee Management module provides a simple and effective HR application – from new starters and leavers to change of details, all of this and more can be managed.

This module also caters for absence management and holiday planning requirements. Self-service functionality allows employees to book absence, schedule training and note their availability to work from their own devices.

Print Controller

Print Controller – a full in-store print portal providing access to all styles of print material, from shelf edge ticketing to food menus, ingredient stickers, shelf talkers and digital signage.

Integrated tasks within Unified Comms and Process, RMS recognise that communication to both internal teams and customers is paramount to driving sales, compliance, customer experience and engagement. The application also benefits from a functionally rich Inventory, Product and Information Management tool.

Activity Planner

The Activity Planner (AP) module most clearly demonstrates how multiple module data and connectivity is used within metro to deliver real benefit. Linked with all other modules, AP is aware of all resource requirements within a site, from simple task management, daily routines, labour schedules and key project activities; providing the business with an holistic view of everything that is happening across their estate.

Project templates, critical paths, auto-calculation of resource and task scheduling ensures the planning, delivery and communication of major projects and events results in project delivery and compliance.
